Perith Farm

Irene's home.

Irene was sat in her mum's bed, silent tears rolling down her already glistening cheeks. The bed clothes still smelled like MUM, just like the jumper tucked in the back of Irene's draw smelled of Marianne, her sister.

"Hello?" a male voice called. Irene heard the front door shutting. She heard the footsteps walking around the house. She saw the door handle turn, and a kind face peeped in.

"Adam!" Irene cried, and the boy came and sat next to her. Her stroked her hair softly.

"Hey, Reni," he whispered. "I missed you, baby."

"I missed you too," Irene cried, hugging him tightly.

"What are you up here for?" he asked. "Come round my place for the night. You can't stay here."

Irene nodded.

Things were just so... Easy, with Adam. They shared a mutal respect and trust. It was one of the reasons their relationship had lasted 3 years, with occassional cheating on both sides. It didn't matter to them, though. They only saw each other 10 weeks each year.

Irene walked out into thehallway from her bedroom. She was holding a small rucksack, which contained a change of clothes and some toiletries. Together, the couple walked out of the front door and down the road to Adam's house.

A thin trail of sparks flitted from Irene's hidden wand as she left the house.

Irene pulled out a picture from her bag. It held two photos - one of herself with Marianne, and one of her mum. The latter was new to the frame.

The pictures meant a lot to Irene. Only her closest friends knew about Marianne, and of those, only a few had ever seen the pictures. Adam was part of those lucky few.

"I miss them."

Adam understood.
