Amethyst walks into the common room.

irene follows her in, as does lucy. Lcy runs over to talk to her friends.

"i couldn't remember the answer," Irene admits. She sits in an armchair away from the fireplace.

Amethyst follows. "It's ok. Things like that happen all the time. I forget it so many times last year because my mind was full of a bunch of other stuff."

"I know - i just don't like to be stuck outside," she says. "how are you, anyway?"

"No one likes being stuck outside." Laughs slightly. "I'm great! How about you?"

(evening. Just finished eating dinner.)

"tired. I couldn't sleep last night."

"Really? Any ideas why?"

"nightmares." sudders, and looks sad.

"Do you want to talk about it or not? You don't have too."

"the usual. My mum, my sister..."

"I'm sorry..."

"don't worry about it. Its good to talk about these things. I just have sucha broken family, its hard to see how mum and i survive." smiles sadly.

"It can be hard. I mean, I can't say I know how you feel. The only bad thing to happen to my family was my brother moving out but family is a big thing to people. Your fine now and that's all that really matters." Places a hand on Irene's shoulder.

"If you want, I can whip up one of my dream potions for you?"

"thanks." Irene grins. "Need any help?"

Sure, come on. I have all my stuff up by bed." Stands up and heads towards the stairs.

Irene follows her up to a large circular room with 5 beds with blue hangings.

(hmmmm, I didn't have that problem. I wonder why.)

Amethyst walks over to her bed and pulls out a huge box that is a deep blue color with her name on it. She opens it and pulls out a little cauldron and some other herbs and oils.

"Here we go. Just pour in some of this rose oil while I run to grab my book. ok?"

(she has never known her dad, like i said on watty, and her mum is in a severe state of depression caused by an event 6 years before. She was driving the carwhen they were in a crash. It killed irene's twin sister, Marianne, and gave Irene the scar on her neck. It almost cut her voice box, that flying shard of glass. Anyway, her mum has been alcoholic ever since. She drinks to forget. )

"sure!" Irene nods and does as nstructed.

"Got my book." Opens to page to the dream potion. "I forgot how simple this is." Smiles. "All we need is a little Chamomile, some lime, and lavender." Puts a little of each thing into the cauldron. Light blue smokes comes up from the cauldron.

Irene points to the book. "You forgot the powdered moonstone," she says.

"Right! No wonder the smoke looked a little off. Should have been a dark blue." Moves things around in her box until she finds what she needs. 'Why don't you put it in." Hands the little tube to Irene.

Irene pours the contents of the tube into the cauldron and the smoke turns dark blue.
